FAQs
What are your fees?
My session fees are $175 for an hour and $210 for 75 minutes.
Do you take insurance?
I am completely private pay and do not take insurance. Many insurance policies offer partial reimbursement to see an out-of-network therapist; you may wish to consult with your insurance carrier regarding this benefit. I will be happy to provide you with an invoice that can be submitted to your carrier for reimbursement but cannot guarantee reimbursement.
Do you offer sliding-scale?
(Currently Full) A percentage of my practice is sliding scale. My sliding scale is determined and decided on a case-by-case basis and is based on availability, financial need, income, financial marginalization and systemic inequality.
How often do I have to come in for therapy?
All clients will start on a once a week basis, which can be reassessed to every two weeks, if deemed appropriate.
Why is it important to pay attention to the body in therapy?
Paying attention to the body helps us access more of the root of our joys and our traumas and developmental wounds than just talking or thinking can. This is because when we experience a trauma or wound it is experienced in and through the body before it can turn into ideas or negative self-beliefs. When we pay attention to the body we light-up the neural pathways that were embedded in our brain and nervous system due to certain experiences, the more we light up that pathway the more we have access to healing the hard stuff and growing and deepening the neural pathways with all the good stuff. When we just talk or think we are only accessing a small portion of the whole experience and therefore we can’t truly get in there to make a deep and lasting difference.
When should I see a therapist?
Whenever you are seeking personal change for greater life satisfaction or seeking support through challenging circumstances. Many people think of themselves as “undeserving” of therapy, deeming their challenges as too miniscule in comparison to others. I am here to tell you that this is not the case, EVERYONE deserves a place to be seen, held and supported through the myriad of challenges we face as human beings.
What happens during the 20 minute consultation?
Over the phone or via teletherapy, we will discuss what is currently bringing you to therapy, as well as what changes are you hoping for in your life. I will ask a few questions about your history and current support in your life. Additionally, this is an important time for you to feel out the connection and energy between us, ask me any questions you may have and tell me what is important to you to have in a therapist.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
I see clients both in person and virtually. Currently, I see clients in-person Monday-Wednesday. Virtually, Wednesday-Thursday.
